“We can’t tell you enough how impressed we were with the organization and itinerary for each leg of the trip. It was such a relief to know that all the small details were taken care of for us. That made it so easy to just relax and enjoy the experience, without worrying about the logistics of how to get to the next location or figure out the next activity. I can’t imagine that we would have had such a smooth and enjoyable time if we had tried to do all the planning ourselves. The itinerary was full of surprises that added to the experience. We had no idea that we would get such personal service and attention, from the winery tours to the hiking and kayaking. “My father and I really loved Luis. He is just a super dependable, humble, smart and kind person. We invited him to dinner with us twice at Los Cerros because we enjoyed his company so much. My father and Luis spent most of dinner sharing stories about their passion for the mountains and discussing all the same books they’ve read about climbers who’ve climbed thee highest peaks around the world. I even had lunch with Luis in Buenos Aires while he was home for the holidays. Please make sure that Luis knows how much we appreciated him as a person as well as his skills as a guide. We couldn’t have asked for a better guide.
We enjoyed all the hotels. The staff at the Sheheun in El Calafate were very attentive and kind. I liked the fact that it was a few blocks out of the main street. We had a lovely view from our room. I cannot say enough about Los Cerros. The hotel was lovely. Everyone on staff was so friendly - the airport transfer driver, the wait staff, the receptionists, and the manager.
They treated both my father and I like royalty and yet like family. I really hope to return.
I thought the entire staff with whom I had contact at Southern Explorations - Jonathan, Justin, Eric and Marisa - were incredibly competent, communicative and genuinely enthusiastic about what they do. I felt from the very beginning that I could trust you folks. I just had a good feeling about you all. Thanks so much. It was an unforgettable trip with my dad.”

“I just wanted to let you know what an incredible time Jerry and I had on your Patagonia ‘W’ Multisport tour.
Our group was amazing. The people that you connected us with were great and we bonded quite strongly with them. In fact, we have plans to visit them in Tokyo in April. The guide, Cristian Sanchez, and the chef, Miguel Chacana, made a perfect pair. Cristian was an AMAZING guide. He was entertaining, engaging, funny, serious, informative and a true leader. He was able to bring the group together and hold it together with ease. He was also very willing to spend every moment introducing us to his local friends and encouraging us to engage in the local customs like sharing tea from a “mate.” Cristian kept us on schedule at all times and made the activities flow with effortless ease. He is also one of two guides to have been born and raised in Puerto Natales and this made a huge difference in his spiritual connection with Patagonia - he was truly one with the mountains and everyone in the group could sense it.
Great tour overall and I will happily recommend your company to others. Our guide was very impressed with your tour operation and he prefers to work with you since you are one of the best operating in that area. This goes a long way in giving me comfort in my recommendation of your firm.

La Tercera (estancia) was marvelous and charming--we're so glad you planned two nights for us there. The food by Carmen was the best we ate on our entire trip to Chile--really extraordinary both nights!

“I just wanted to thank you for your efforts, my Classic Patagonia trip to Buenos Aires and Santa Cruz Province could not have been any better. I appreciated the transfers in BA - Paulina added a nice human touch to my experience, and I knew that she had my back if anything went wrong (nothing did) while I was in Argentina. The accommodations were all great - the Art Hotel (preferred) and Elevage in BA, Los Hielos in El Calafate and Los Cerros in El Chalten - and I'll mostly remember the friendliness of the staff in each place, particularly at Hielos and Cerros. The Big Ice Trek was unforgettable and the two hikes at Fitz Roy were also pretty amazing. I also loved the drive from El Calafate to El Chalten - gorgeous! In El Chalten, we were guided by Lucho, who was extremely cool and taught us so much about the ecosytem as we hiked the trails to Laguna de los Tres and Laguna Torre. I loved al the guides on this trip but Lucho was my favorite. The efficiency of this trip was impressive, and even when I switched flights (from El Calafate to BA) on the fly, the transfers were right on time. I really can't say enough about the whole experience. I also appreciated that Justin called me the day before I left to make sure everything was OK and see if I had any last-minute questions.
