Peru Specialized Tours:
We also offer two specialized tours, the 9-day lodge-based Peru Day Hiker comprised of unique day-hikes, the 11-day Alternative Inca Trail trip which takes an off the beaten path to reach Machu Picchu

TRIPS BY ACTIVITY
Antarctica Cruises
Spectacular discounts are still available for the 2010/11 Antarctica Season.  Contact us for more details.  This is the year to travel to Antarctica!

Galapagos Land Tours and Cruises
Our land-based Galapagos Multi Sport tour is becoming more popular than ever.  It is a very special, active way to visit the Galapagos Islands.  In 2009 our Christmas season departures sold out by mid-May, so this year we've added two departures during
the holiday period in hopes of meeting the demand.

Galapagos cruises continue to be the most popular way to visit the Galapagos Islands.  See our array of Galapagos Boats.

Panama & Costa Rica Tours
Autumn is a great time to travel to Panama and Costa Rica.  Both Central American countries are close to home, making them perfect destinations for a week's get-away.  We are happy to announce that our 2010 prices in both countries have not increased.

SE NEWS
CELEBRATING 5 YEARS!  THANK YOU!
We are proud to announce our 5 year anniversary here at Southern Explorations!  We want to extend a big THANK YOU to all of you who have supported us over the years.  In appreciation, we are extending a $100 discount on all of our Fixed Departure trips booked by April 30, 2010.  Please toll free at (877) 784-5400 to begin planning your next adventure!

Adding Uruguay
Director of Sales Jonathan Borgida, just returned from Uruguay. Jonathan spearheaded our exploration of the country as the first step to adding new destinations to those we already offer in Uruguay.  Travel to Uruguay from Buenos Aires is a quick ferry ride or flight, making the country a logical add-on to any of our Argentina trips.

More Brazil Trips on the Way
Director of Operations, Eric Bartanen, is heading to Brazil this week.  He will be inspecting the areas where Southern Explorations is already operating tours and be familiarizing himself with new destinations we'll be adding later this year.  While there, he will be inspecting hotels, participating in our itinerary activities and meeting with our local Brazilian guides.  This first-hand knowledge of the region will be of use to Eric in helping our future passengers plan their Brazil tours.  Muito Bon Enrique!

Helping Our Destinations
In 2009, Southern Explorations increased its donations to the charitable organizations that we support.  We contributed to La Pagina en La Puerta, American Whitewater Association, Cascadia Wildlands Project, International Galapagos Tour Operators Association and became a new proud member of International Rivers, an organization dedicated to protecting natural waterways in over sixty countries.
