Originally built for the U.S. National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, the 279-ft ice-strengthened Antarctic polar vessel, Ushuaia, has been refurbished for private commercial use to accommodate a maximum of eighty-four passengers on Antarctica expeditions.

The ship's forty-one comfortable cabins are configured as twins or suites, and all are equipped with a desk and roomy storage. The twins, some inside and others with porthole or window, have private or semi-private bathroom facilities. The suites have private facilities, windows or portholes (or both) and sitting areas equipped with TV/DVD.

This well-appointed ship with ample deck space features public areas that include a large dining room, accommodating all passengers in one sitting, an observation lounge and bar, a conference room with modern media equipment, an extensive library and a small infirmary and changing room.

The ship's captain, officers and crew are highly experienced in Antarctica travel and share their passengers' love of nature. Dedicated to the protection of the environment, the specialist team of international expedition leaders and lecturers is very knowledgeable, enthusiastic and helpful.
