This 272-ft former Chilean Navy ship is a Dutch-built ice-reinforced vessel. The M/V Antarctic Dream was reconfigured as an unrestricted, worldwide passenger vessel suitable for Antarctica travel and Artic expedition and completely refurbished in July 2005. The cruise ship accommodates eighty-four passengers and cruises at 12 knots in open water.

Cabin Details

This Antartic vessel offers forty-two twin cabins, four suites with large windows on two sides and sixteen superior cabins, all with private bathroom facilities. Three of the private twins are inside cabins without porthole or window. All cabins have a desk, storage, safe, temperature control and TV plus inter-cabin and satellite phone service.
Suite: 4 with large windows on two sides, bath (3 with queen beds, 1 with two single beds)
Superior: 16 with large window (6 with queen beds, 10 with two single beds)

Amenities

The ship features a spacious dining room/observation lounge, bar, lecture room, fitness room with sauna and a boutique. Satellite Internet and phone service is available in the library. Onboard lectures are presented by geologists, historians, naturalists and Antartic expedition leaders as well as the captain. The cruise ship's program focuses on the viewing of Antarctica wildlife and scenery, and passengers have bridge access.

Dining

Meals and beverages on the ship's Antarctica tours are served in the panoramic view dining room, prepared and served by three chefs, a bartender and six servers.

Services

The Antarctic Dream is manned by a large well-trained Chilean cruise crew including an expedition leader, four guides/lecturers and hotel manager. Antartica shore excursions via Zodiaks are scheduled according to light and weather conditions.
