The Pre-Delta National Park was established in 1991 to preserve the delta superior of South America's second longest river, the Parana, in Entre Rios Province. A small park with few visitors, its 6,000 acres are environmentally diverse, consisting of low islands, small lakes, water mirrors and gallery forests, making it a relaxing experience for visitors on Argentina tours. Abundant bird species include storks, herons and the large matraca duck. The park is home to a wide variety of other wildlife such as the capybara, otters and alligators.
