This yin and yang of Brazil tours is a combination of yoga and surfing on the island paradise of Florianopolis off Brazil's southern coast. In the province of Santa Catarina, Floripa, as it is locally known, is famous for its surfing competitions that attract participants from around the world. Because of its many beaches, the island is the perfect place to learn to surf or polish your skills, whatever your level of expertise. Enjoy two-hour surfing lessons at a popular Santa Catarina surfing locales: Campeche, Joaquina or Barra, on the east side of the island. These beaches are perfect for lessons because they are protected from the big undulations that hit the island's coast from the south. The beginner lessons focus on basic skills and safety. Intermediate surfers will learn how to turn the board, to drop or take off and other manoeuvres on the wave. Advanced surfers will concentrate on techniques for negotiating challenging waves and most likely explore areas with more difficult breaks. All participants will be taught about this new environment of sea and currents. Your five, hour-and-a-half long Ashtanga Vinyasa yoga lessons will be taught by an English-speaking master instructor who has trained in various locations around the globe. Balance these activities with excursions to the local restaurants, bars, and music venues with a local nightlife guide.

Relax on the beach on the first day of your Brazil Tour

A driver will meet you on arrival at the Florianopolis International Airport and take you to Vila Tamarindo Eco Lodge, a charming hotel near Campeche Beach where you'll be spending your nights and enjoying homemade breakfasts for the duration of your stay. Spend the remainder of the day at leisure, settling into your cozy sea-view suite, resting at the local beach, or exploring the city.

Day 2 (Mon) CANTO DOS ARACAS HIKE View Florianopolis accommodations picture gallery After enjoying your first breakfast seaside, you will be met at the hotel by your English-speaking guide for a short, introductory hike. You will drive to Canto dos Araçás, a residential area that borders picturesque Lagoa da Conceição to begin the hike. The mostly-flat trail follows the lakeshore through diverse communities and past the best-preserved flourmill on the island. At the end of the trail, before returning by boat to Canto dos Araçás and your hotel, have the pleasure of dining on the island's renowned seafood at one of the popular dockside restaurants. (B)

Jump right in to 4 days of surfing lessons, yoga classes and nightlife on this Brazil Tour

Each day your Brazil travel and tours will start by meeting at your hotel by an English-speaking guide to drive with you in your rental car to the locations of the day's yoga and surfing lessons. The remainder of the day and each evening will be yours to explore the island's many beaches and other attractions on your own. Meet with your nightlife guide for the evenings for a whole different type of adventure! (4B)
