Spend thirteen fabulous days immersed in the riches of Bahia and Rio. You’ll start your Brazil tours with three days of Rio de Janeiro travel. Here in this cosmopolitan mecca for the glamour set, you’ll get a taste of what makes Rio one of the world’s great cities, by experiencing its white sand beaches, cultural diversity, divine cuisine and vibrant nightlife. Then it’s on to Salvador, a city made rich and famous by sugar production four centuries ago. Salvador is called the country’s cultural capital because of the disparate mix of indigenous, African, Caribbean, Portuguese and Dutch influences that history brought together. You’ll visit some of Salvador’s famed colonial mansions and churches, plus experience its electrifying nightlife and unforgettable Bahian cuisine. Next you’ll travel some 250 miles west to Chapada Diamantina National Park. This vast park offers travelers an unforgettable adventure of hiking and swimming in a landscape of red canyons, mesas, colorful caverns and grottoes, waterfalls and vegetation that ranges from orchids to cactus. And there is no better way to end your Bahian odyssey than spending four relaxing days in Praia do Forte, fifty miles up the Coconut Coast from Salvador. Here you may visit a famous sea turtle reserve that is working to save the four threatened species that nest in this area, browse the myriad of arts and crafts shops, enjoy outdoor dining establishments and of course relax on scenic unpopulated beaches. These exciting Brazil tours are a memorable mix of cultural and outdoor adventures.
