This Brazil travel pairs three sizzling days in heart-pumping Rio de Janeiro with its antithesis, the laid-back tropical paradise of the country’s idyllic northeast coast. In cosmopolitan Rio, one of the world’s greatest cities, you’ll experience cultural riches, fabulous cuisine, a vibrant nightlife and the beaches of the glamour set. Then you’ll head north, traveling overland to places most people have never heard of. This is a region of pristine beaches and freshwater lakes surrounded by gigantic sand dunes where the swimming, windsurfing and kite surfing are superb. You’ll stay in small villages, visiting nearby dunes.
