These adventures take us to the famous Moreno Glacier, the last advancing glacier on the continent, Argentino and Viedma lakes, as well as the world famous climbing destination of Chalten (Fitzroy Massif). Los Glaciares National Park. Extending from Cerro Fitzroy in the north to Cerro Stokes in the south, this park includes over 13 glaciers that fall from the Southern Patagonian Ice Cap into the second and third largest lakes in all of South America. Argentino and Viedma lakes traverse the east/west ecosystem transition from glacier to tundra to rainforest to desert.

Argentina Extensions

Perito Moreno Glacier

This short trip will give you a full day to explore and photograph the incredibly beautiful Moreno Glacier. In addition you will get time to wander the quaint streets of el Calafate. Good shopping and restaurants are available.

Day 1 TORRES DEL PAINE - EL CALAFATE (Argentina) Transfer from Torres del Paine National Park across border (Cerro Castillo) into Argentina and on to el Calafate. Overnight hotel. (B)
Day 2 PERITO MORENO GLACIAR Full day guided excursion to Perito Moreno Glacier. Plenty of time to walk the trails and admire this miracle of nature. Night back at hotel in el Calafate. (B)
Day 3 EL CALAFATE - PUERTO NATALES / PUNTA ARENAS Transfer across border to Puerto Natales. Continue with Extra Nights in Puerto Natales or onward travel arrangements to Punta Arenas airport. (B)

Perito Moreno Glacier & Los Glaciares National Park

This trip combines a trip to the beautiful Moreno Glacier with some fabulous hiking in Los Glaciares National Park (Fitzroy range). This five-day itinerary includes transfers from the Park (as above) and returns passengers to Punta Arenas for onward travel.

Day 1 TORRES DEL PAINE - EL CALAFATE (Argentina) Transfer from Torres del Paine National Park across border (Cerro Castillo) into Argentina and on to the Perito Moreno Glacier for late afternoon visit to this amazing glacier. As we arrive fairly late, most regular tours have departed and we should see the glacier with few other visitors. After spending time walking the trails and listening to the cracking and calving of icebergs, we will transfer to el Calafate. Overnight hotel. (B)
Day 2 PERITO MORENO GLACIAR After breakfast we will transfer across the Argentine pampas crossing the river Santa Cruz and with luck we will spot the Viedma glacier and views of today's destination: the peaks of Fitzroy. We will stop in lovely el Chalten to check in our bags then set off on a day hike to the Cerro Torre. Overnight at our hotel in el Chalten. (B)
Day 3 FITZROY COMPLEX Surrounded by incredible peaks of plutonic granite that was sculpted by immense glaciers, these peaks rise at impossible angles. The complex of Fitzroy (11,703 ft.), Cerro Tower, Egger Tower, Poincenot and many more have become one of climbing's ultimate challenges. Night back at our hotel in el Chalten. (B)
Day 4 PUERTO NATALES Today we will transfer back across the border into Chile for our final night in Puerto Natales. En route we will stop at the Milodon Cave (made famous by Bruce Chatwin). A farewell dinner and pisco sours await us in one of the great seafood restaurants in town. Overnight hotel. (B)
Day 5 PUNTA ARENAS Transfer to Punta Arenas airport for flight to Santiago and International connections or extra night in Santiago. (B)
