Of course you'll have an opportunity to visit the canal and the capital on this Panama vacation, but for much of these eight blissful days, you'll be experiencing the timeless paradise of Panama's white-sand beaches and swaying palms while staying in charming hotels. Day 1 (Sat) Arrival in Panama

When you arrive at Panama City's international airport, a Southern Explorations representative will be there to transfer you to your hotel in the city.

Day 2 (Sun) Pacific Beach Tour

After breakfast, our guide will take you to enjoy one of the nearby Pacific beaches of Panama and have lunch in a small beach town, returning to the capital in the afternoon. Spend the night at your hotel. (B,L)

Day 3-4 (Mon) San Blas Islands (2 nights)

Sunset over the San Blas Islands and the Pacific beyond
Early in the morning, you will be transferred to the domestic airport for a twenty-minute flight to El Porvenir, gateway to heaven on earth, the San Blas archipelago. From there you'll go by motorized dugout canoe to the island of Nalunega where you'll be staying the next two nights at the small rustic Hotel San Blas. This primitive paradise, an exciting and unique Panama travel experience, has fresh water showers and toilets outside the rooms and is managed by the Kuna community. You'll learn about Kuna cultural traditions and enjoy remote beaches on the nearby islands. (B,L,D)

Day 5 (Tue) Panama City

In the early morning, you'll return to Panama City. In the afternoon your guide will meet you for a Canal Tour, you will visit the Pacific Locks, exhibitions and museum of the Panama Canal. If you would like, you can also enjoy an optional folkloric show and dinner at Tinajas Restaurant. Spend the night at a hotel in the city. (B)

Day 6 (Wed) Bocas del Toro

Sea kayaking is a great way to explore the Caribbean coast near Bocas del Toro
Transfer to the domestic airport for your flight to Bocas del Toro on the Caribbean side of Panama, where you'll get a taste of Afro-Panamanian culture. Enjoy the rest of your day at leisure, exploring the town or its beautiful surroundings. Your night will spent be at a hotel in Bocas. (B)

Day 7 (Thu) Bocas del Toro/Panama

After one final relaxing morning in Bocas, you'll fly back to Panama City in the afternoon and be transferred to a hotel for the last night of your Panama vacation here. (B)
