San Blas Islands Extension Itinerary

Day 1
Take an early flight from Panama City to the Mamitupo airstrip. With a local guide, you'll travel by boat across the calm lagoon to Dolphin Island Lodge. Unwind with a stroll through the island and enjoy the fine white beaches, perfect for sunbathing, snorkeling and swimming. The Lodge menu features dishes of the day's catch. (B,L,D)

Day 2
After a light breakfast, spend a relaxing afternoon touring the nearby islands, enjoying the sandy beaches and crystal-clear waters. The plentiful marine species in the area includes dolphins, green and hawksbill turtles, sponges, lobsters and a wide variety of reef fish. You may wish to do some hiking around neighboring islands to take advantage of the abundant birdwatching opportunities offered on this Panama vacation. Parakeets, parrots and hummingbirds are just some of the hundreds of colorful species found on these islands. As you might imagine, starry nights here are spectacular. (B,L,D)

After an early breakfast, we'll return you to Mamitupo by boat to catch your return flight to Panama City. (B)

* Women are not allowed to wear two-piece swimsuits.

** On the islands of Achutupu and Ailigandi, advance permission must be obtained to photograph an individual Kuna man of woman or a group at close range. A tip of $0.25 to $0.50 per photo for the person photographed is customary unless you have just purchased a handicraft. These restrictions do not apply on the island of Uaguitupu.
