Today you have your choice of Patagonia day hikes, ranging from very mellow to strenuous. For those looking for a lighter venture, hike to a pair of close and incredibly beautiful viewpoints. Mirador de los Condores boasts views of El Chaltén (Fitz Roy), Cerro Torre, and the Valley of Rio de Las Vuelta. Mirador de las Aguilas offers a panoramic view of Lago Viedma and the Patagonian Steppe. If you prefer a more strenuous trek, we recommend the full-day hike to Laguna de Los Tres at the base of Mt. Fitz Roy, an excellent hike offering impressive views the whole way through. You’ll break for lunch to take in the scenery and gain energy for the climb. Travel towards the mountain’s base from Rio Blanco to Laguna de los Tres and neighboring Laguna Sucia with turquoise waters. Here you are rewarded with the inspiring backdrop of Glacier de los Tres, Glacier Rio Blanco, the mythical El Chalten, and its adjoining peaks, surely a Patagonia tour must-see.
