White Water Rafting the Apurimac Itinerary

• Day 1 CUSCO - APURIMAC RIVER The three to four hour private van ride from Cusco offers spectacular views of the Vilcabamba and Vilcanota highlands before arriving at your scenic accommodations beside the rushing Apurimac. You'll enjoy an outdoor dinner prepared by our chef and camp under the stars on this scenic stretch of our Peru tour.
• Day 2 RAFTING APURIMAC RIVER The first rafting segment travels through some exciting class III/IV rapids, before coming to the first and mandatory portage. With the crew's help, you'll slide the raft over rocks to put safely back on the river downstream. For the rest of the day enjoy thrilling rapids, a riverside beach lunch and scenic views of the deep gorge and flowing river. In the late afternoon, you reach your destination, a soft sand beach for a second night of camping alongside the river.
• Day 3 APURIMAC RIVER - CUSCO Today, the canyon widens into sloping formations that create more challenging rapids, including "Toothache," "You First," Babalua Carajo and "Last Laugh." For passengers wishing to skip these grade V rapids, the banks are easily walked and accessible for portage. A final stretch of calm waters and a riverside lunch await you at the end of the trip, before returning by private van to Cusco.
