If you’re anything like me and my team, you’ve been dreaming of spending time in far off places. These past few weeks, we’ve been focusing our attention on Antarctica.
The reason? Antarctica is one of the trips our guests book months and even years in advance. So, while we await the end of the pandemic, we’re busy planning Antarctica adventures with eager travelers to ensure they’re ready to head to the world of ice fields, seals, whales, and penguins when the time comes.
After a year of uncertainty, one thing we know for sure is that capacity for the 2021-2022 Antarctica season is already extremely limited. The cancellation of the 2020-2021 season resulted in many travelers rebooking for this next season, which we expect to run from November 2021 to March 2022. With that in mind, we’ve already started posting a number 2022-2023 Antarctica dates for travelers to review and book.
If you’re looking for a truly unforgettable trip like none you’ve ever taken before, Antarctica is the destination for you. A trip to and through Antarctica is as much about the journey as it is the final destination. Add in the wildlife and the kind of beauty even the best photographers struggle to fully capture and you’ve got something incredibly unique. If you’ve gained a new appreciation for what travel means in your life this past year, you’ll truly appreciate Antarctica.
And we’ve added a number of Antarctica itineraries we hadn’t had available previously. More ships than ever are offering a fly option to King George Island, which means you won’t have to spend two days crossing the Drake Passage. This saves time and allows you to spend more time experiencing the white continent. You can check out our Fly & Sail Expeditions to learn more about avoiding the rough waters of the Drake.
I’m so excited to work with eager travelers to plan adventures again. Check out Southern Explorations’ newsletters, social media posts, and our website for trip availability and special offers.
