Overview of the Hondius
The M/V Hondius was recently completed in Croatia and first launched in the summer of 2019. She has a maximum passenger capacity of 196 which is limited to 170 passengers for Antarctic voyages and is the most flexible, advanced, innovative, ice-strengthened vessel in the polar regions.

An environmentally friendly vessel, she uses LED lighting, steam heating, bio-degradable paints and lubricants, and state-of-the-art power management systems that keep fuel consumption and CO2 levels minimal. She is the first-registered Polar Class 6 vessel in the world (equivalent 1A-Super), meeting the latest and highest Lloyds Register demands for ice-strengthened cruise vessels, and is equipped with advanced stabilizers and two main engines.

Yes! All of our posted itineraries can be considered a starting point and were happy to tailor a trip to your exact desires. There may be some elements of a trip, such as a cruise or all-inclusive lodge stay, that cannot be modified but we can always adjust the tours around those components.
We provide full service tours so in general our trips include all guided activities with professional English-speaking guides, accommodations, transportation, airport transfers, entrance fees and permits, select meals, and pre-departure services.
