Overview of the Magellan Explorer

The M/V Magellan Explorer is a new and modern expedition vessel that includes a spacious, forward-facing, glass-enclosed observation lounge and guest-accessible bow. Together with the outdoor observation deck, it offers expansive views and close contact with the natural environment during exploration.

The ship has a fleet of 10 Zodiac boats that are well suited for disembarking and wildlife watching. Adventure activities, such as kayaking and snowshoeing, are available on the longer departures.

The Magellan Explorer complies with the latest SOLAS (Safety of Life At Sea) regulations, has Lloyds Register ice class rating: LR PC6 and travels at a cruising speed of 14 knots.

Cabin Details

The Magellan Explorer offers seven categories of accommodation, including dedicated single cabins. All cabins except Porthole cabins feature private balconies. All double cabins except two have two twin beds that can be configured as one king-size bed.

Yes! All of our posted itineraries can be considered a starting point and were happy to tailor a trip to your exact desires. There may be some elements of a trip, such as a cruise or all-inclusive lodge stay, that cannot be modified but we can always adjust the tours around those components.

We provide full service tours so in general our trips include all guided activities with professional English-speaking guides, accommodations, transportation, airport transfers, entrance fees and permits, select meals, and pre-departure services.
