Offering a fascinating look into the engineering ingenuity of the Inca civilization, Cachicata is where the Inca’s formed boulders for some of their ambitious building projects miles away such as the Ollantaytambo fortress.

This invigorating and scenic hike takes 3 to 4 hours, across the Urubamba River on an ascending trail that affords panoramic vistas of the Ollantaytambo valley, the Vilcanota mountain range and Mount Veronica (18,745 ft.) along the way. We’ll lunch surrounded by magnificent views before returning to the Sacred Valley or Cusco.
