TALK TO A TRAVEL EXPERTThe day’s first stop is the Inca ruin at Moray to view three adjoining agricultural terraces with different microclimates that archeologists believe were likely used for crop experiments. Traveling further back in history, the next stop is the unique salt terraces near the colonial village of Maras. Fed by a heated subterranean stream, the extensive operation has produced salt since before the Incas arrived. These terraces are distinctive for their sheer number as well as for the unusual brown and white patterns created by the soil and salt. A picnic lunch in the tranquil Sacred Valley completes the day, returning you to your hotel in Cusco or the Sacred Valley by late afternoon.
