Rainforests and Beaches Tour Itinerary

Day 1 (Sat) SAN JOSÉ View San Jose accommodations picture gallery Arrival at the San José International Airport where a Southern Explorations representative will be waiting to transfer you to your hotel. Overnight at a hotel in San Jose.
Day 2 (Sun) SAN JOSÉ - CORCOVADO NATIONAL PARK / CASA CORCOVADO View Corcovado accommodations picture gallery Today you will start your Costa Rica Tour in the morning and transfer to the local airport for a forty-five-minute flight to Palmar Sur. Upon arrival, Casa Corcovado staff will take you thirty minutes by bus to La Hacienda, located at the Sierpe dock where you will then travel ninety minutes down river by boat, viewing mangrove wetlands until you arrive at Casa Corcovado. A welcome cocktail will be served before lunch. The afternoon you'll have free to explore the nature trails and the beach as you continue your Costa Rica tour. Overnight at Casa Corcavado.
Day 3 (Mon) CORCOVADO NATIONAL PARK / CASA CORCOVADO View Corcovado accommodations picture gallery Spend the day in Corcovado National Park or choose an excursion to Caqo Island, with picnic lunch, snorkeling gear and nature guide. The Corcovado National Park is home to many endangered species: Monkeys, jaguars and tapirs as well as 400 bird species. It's a must on any Costa Rica ecotour. A half-day guided tour will take you to tree platforms in the rainforest canopy where more than half of the jungle's wildlife is found. Return in the afternoon to the hotel. Overnight at Casa Corcovado.
Day 4 (Tue) CORCOVADO NATIONAL PARK - MANUEL ANTONIO View Manuel Antonio accommodations picture gallery Before noon (depending on the tides), you'll board a speed boat before noon to reach Palmar Sur for a short flight to Quepos where you will be transferred to your hotel. Spend this afternoon of your Costa Rica adventure at your leisure, exploring the beaches and charming town of Manuel Antonio. Overnight at a nearby hotel.
Day 5 (Wed) MANUEL ANTONIO - RAFTING View Manuel Antonio accommodations picture gallery Today your Costa Rica adventure takes to the water with an exciting half-day Class III/IV rafting trip through the scenic tropical jungles of the Naranjo River canyon. The excursion starts in the mountains above Quepos and ends at sea level passing through plantations and farm lands. The river's quickly rising waters make this an exciting and safe adventure for experienced rafters. Overnight at the hotel.
Day 6 (Thu) MANUEL ANTONIO TOUR AND FREE AFTERNOON View Manuel Antonio accommodations picture gallery Today explore Manuel Antonio National Park, an important habitat for the endangered squirrel monkey and an exciting stop on your Costa Rica ecological tour. The Park is also known for its white sand beaches surrounded by tropical forests, its marine life and mangrove swamps. Regularly observed wildlife include white-faced monkeys, howler monkeys, sloths, armadillos, and iguanas and the park is home to 350 bird species. You'll see the unique formation of Punta Catedral, with its views of bird reserves and shoreline evergreen forests.
