We know you want to be a more conscientious traveler. You know we're always working to continue advancing our commitment to sustainable travel. We all know that the use of plastic water bottles while traveling is extremely hard on the environment, as well as the communities left with the garbage created by plastic bottles. Not to mention the fact that they are expensive and can often be unhealthy.
The good news is, thanks to Travelers Against Plastic (TAP), an outreach initiative that aims to educate global travelers about the harmful impacts of plastic water bottle usage and educate travelers to be prepared to clean their own drinking water, the solution is easy: carry a reusable water bottle!
TAP offers stylish bottles featuring a textured world map, the TAP logo, and their “Travel Smart” slogan. They’re designed to help you tell the world that traveling with a reusable water bottle is smart and convenient. Manufactured at Liberty Bottleworks’ zero waste facility in the US, TAP’s reusable water bottles are made with recycled materials, are 100% recyclable, and $5 from every sale goes to help support TAP’s mission.
By carrying a reusable TAP bottle you’ll be helping to stem the flow of discarded plastic bottles that become litter and pile high in landfills (86% of single-use plastic bottles become landfill or litter in the US annually).
At Southern Explorations, we’re a proud supporter of TAP, joining a host of tour operators working to make a difference in the way we travel by supporting the TAP campaign, encouraging all of our guests to use reusable water bottles whenever they travel. We have all come together to get behind TAP’s vision of catalyzing a self-sustaining global movement that will result in the near elimination of travelers’ dependence on plastic water bottles.
As a traveler, you can take the TAP pledge to avoid buying bottled water when you travel, and instead plan to fill your bottle with filtered water from the hotel in the morning, or choose to treat your own drinking water, as well as spread the word to travelers you meet, both at home and abroad.
